The Board of Directors of Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Benson Ogundeji as its substantive Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, following approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In a latest statement, the Board Chairman, Mr. Kayode Falowo, expressed confidence in Mr. Ogundeji’s leadership, stating: “The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Benson Ogundeji as our Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.”
Mr. Ogundeji brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the banking and financial services sector to his new role. Since joining Greenwich Merchant Bank in July 2020 as an Executive Director, he has played a significant role in the bank’s transformation from Greenwich Trust Limited into a full-fledged merchant bank. His leadership extended across Corporate Banking, Treasury, and Global Markets, positioning the bank for sustainable growth.
Prior to his tenure at Greenwich, he held senior leadership positions at several prominent financial institutions, including Ecobank Nigeria Plc and Guaranty Trust Bank Plc. Renowned for his strategic insights and operational expertise, Mr. Ogundeji has consistently driven business development and operational efficiency throughout his career.
Mr. Ogundeji’s appointment comes as Greenwich Merchant Bank embarks on its next phase of strategic growth. His four-year tenure as both Executive Director and Acting Managing Director has allowed him to cultivate a deep understanding of the bank’s vision and operations.
The Board expressed its confidence in his ability to lead Greenwich Merchant Bank toward achieving its goals, emphasising his proven track record in driving innovation and excellence in the financial sector.
