Ecobank Nigeria has joined forces with the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CrediCorp) to provide affordable and flexible loan options designed to meet the diverse needs of Nigerians.
This initiative targets key financial obligations, including school fees, rent, maintenance costs, medical bills, car purchases, and asset financing.
The program is open to civil servants and private-sector employees whose salaries are processed through Ecobank. New customers can also benefit from the initiative by presenting an undertaking from their employers to channel future salaries through the bank.
CrediCorp, a federal government-backed development finance institution, will fund the program, while Ecobank will oversee loan disbursement. The partnership extends beyond personal loans to include asset financing for items such as solar systems, electronics, laptops, and vehicle conversions to compressed natural gas (CNG).
Speaking on the initiative, Adeola Ogunyemi, Head of Consumer Banking at Ecobank Nigeria, emphasised its potential to enhance financial access and improve living standards for salary earners. “This collaboration is a fantastic opportunity to improve the quality of life for our customers. Eligible individuals can finance essential expenses or acquire necessary items like solar systems and electronics,” she noted.
The loans feature competitive interest rates, a two-year repayment period, and a fixed monthly repayment structure, offering borrowers stability regardless of economic fluctuations.
