The British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming Nigeria’s agricultural landscape through the Farmers for the Future (F4F) Cohort 5.0 program.
In its latest milestone, BATNF awarded ₦10 million in equity-free grants to six enterprising young agripreneurs who have demonstrated exceptional innovation and drive in the agricultural sector.
At the forefront of the awards was Tolu Ajibola, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tolu Ajibola Farms, who clinched the grand prize of ₦3 million. Reflecting on her achievement, Ajibola remarked, “This victory is a validation of my dreams. The F4F program has armed me with the skills, insights, and resources to scale my business and contribute meaningfully to sustainable farming in Nigeria.”
The program also celebrated the achievements of Chinaza Mbah, founder of Nana’s Delight Foodstuff, and Aishat Albashir, CEO of A&A Green Farms. Both first runners-up were awarded ₦2 million each to support their ventures. Additionally, second runners-up Kanadi Usman, Abubakar Yakubu, and Emediong Effiong received ₦1 million each to propel their businesses forward.
Beyond financial support, the F4F initiative is a comprehensive empowerment program designed to address critical challenges in agriculture. Winners gain access to mentorship through BATNF’s exclusive alumni network, industry linkages, and tools for tackling issues like limited mechanisation and access to high-yield seeds.
Adetola Oniyelu, Project Manager at BATNF, underscored the broader impact of the initiative: “We’re empowering agripreneurs who are not only creating jobs but also pioneering sustainable practices that drive agriculture forward.”
Through innovative solutions in aquaculture, tech-driven farming, and beyond, the F4F program reflects the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of Nigeria’s youth. As BATNF continues to invest in sustainable agricultural practices, the initiative strengthens efforts to combat food insecurity and unemployment, reinforcing agriculture as a cornerstone of national development.
Cohort 5.0 stands as a testament to BATNF’s enduring dedication to supporting the next generation of agripreneurs and advancing Nigeria’s agricultural future.
