Access Bank has been honoured with the prestigious Financially Inclusive Bank of the Year award at the International Financial Inclusion Conference (IFIC).
Organised by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the event brought together key stakeholders in the financial sector to discuss strategies for enhancing financial access and promoting economic development.
The conference, themed: ‘Inclusive Growth: Harnessing Inclusion for Economic Development’, featured global experts, policymakers, and industry leaders, including the CBN’s Deputy Governor for Financial System Stability, Mr. Philip Ikeazor; Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms. Omolola Oloworaran; Mastercard’s country manager for West Africa, Mr. Folasade Femi-Lawal; and Mr. Ajibade Laolu-Adewale, Chairman of the Committee of e-Business Industry Heads (CeBIH).
Access Bank was recognised for its significant contributions to financial inclusion in Nigeria and beyond. Its branch expansion strategy has successfully reached unbanked communities, while the bank’s secure and innovative digital financial solutions continue to empower customers across Africa. Speaking about the award, Mrs. Chizoba Iheme, Group Head of Financial Inclusion at Access Bank,expressed gratitude to the organizers and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion.
