Providus Bank Appoints Tukur As Non-Executive Director

Providus Bank has announced the appointment of Mr. Mahmud Tukur as a Non-Executive Director.

His appointment was ratified at the bank’s recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mr. Tukur, the Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ashgrove Group, is a globally recognised business leader with three decades of experience spanning the energy, maritime, infrastructure, and technology sectors.

The bank’s executive management expressed confidence in his appointment, highlighting his expertise in corporate governance, risk management, strategy, and performance management. “We are delighted to welcome Mr. Mahmud Tukur to our board. His extensive experience and multifaceted skillsets will be invaluable as we strengthen our strategic direction and drive sustained growth. His leadership acumen and deep industry insights align with our vision for future-forward banking,” the bank stated.

At age 37, Mr. Tukur made history as the youngest CEO of a publicly listed company in Nigeria when he was appointed to lead Eterna Plc, an indigenous downstream oil company listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). Under his leadership, the company experienced a remarkable transformation, earning him recognition as one of the top 25 CEOs of publicly listed companies in Nigeria and the prestigious Downstream CEO of the Year award.
